IMPORTANT ! – TBS EV Response to COVID-19
To the TBSEV Community,
As COVID-19 continues to spread, we continue to balance our commitment to your health with our obligations as a religious community, which is to be an open place of support, comfort, and compassion.
In response to government restrictions on public gatherings and school closures, and in line with similar measures taken by other religious organizations, effective immediately the following changes to TBSEV programming are in effect:
The TBSEV 70th Anniversary is postponed, likely to be rescheduled for September 13, 2020.
Religious school classes are cancelled through Sunday, March 29. Classes are scheduled to resume April 1st at this time.
All adult education classes are cancelled through Sunday March 29.
All religious services and ritual events are cancelled through Sunday, March 29.
The office will remain open for synagogue communications and day-to-day operations, but please call ahead to confirm that someone is in office before coming by.
We will of course be paying attention to changes in the local and national health situation, and will evaluate an ongoing basis whether or not we need to change our plans.
Video and audio options for distance programming are being explored by Rabbi Aberson and our technology and ritual teams to provide some content and support during this unusual period.
Just as Jews acted as a community and fasted to support Esther as she fasted in preparation to confront the king in the Purim story, so too do we need to act communally to support individuals who may be at risk. Please understand that the actions we take and model as a community are motivated not necessarily by individual risk, but by the risk that we place on others when we are not careful. This is about us. The TBSEV community has always acted like a family- there is no doubt we will stay on that path in these uncertain times. Look out for each other, and please let us know if there is anything TBSEV can do to help.
