Everyone is welcome at all adult education sessions: congregational members and the community at large, Jews and non-Jews. Most classes are free or low-cost, though donations are always welcome and very gratefully accepted.

Learn to Read Hebrew
Come learn the mysteries of the Hebrew alphabet. We will learn it all in just 5 weeks. Free of charge!

Understand Prayerbook Hebrew
You’ve learned to read – Hurray! Now learn what you’re saying. This class will give you the most common vocabulary and grammar found in the prayerbook and Torah. We’ll have 2 sessions of 6 weeks each.  Yes, there will be homework – be prepared to sweat!
NOTE: This class requires a textbook. To order the book we have made it very easy for you.

Learn to Lead Services
This project has been created to provide tutoring, mentoring, and guidance to our members to be able to lead parts or all of our Friday Night and Saturday Morning Services. Our target audience is post-bnai mitzvah and older in age. Free of charge!
Prerequisite: Hebrew reading and some singing ability are a good starting point.

Israeli Music, media and more

We will explore YouTube(™) and other video websites as well as Israeli Radio Stations and where to listen online. A website of links will be created during the class to eventually be placed on the TBS-EV website for references. Students will be able to compile a small playlist with a theme. Some of the playlists can be saved in a TBS-EV Playlist area on YouTube(™) for others to enjoy. Singers / musicians from America and Israel will be discussed. Israeli Dance
Better exercise and more fun than counting steps! Come learn “Rikudei Am,” or Israeli Folk Dancing. No experience necessary. We will teach the first hour and have open dancing the second hour.

Virtual Tour of Israel

Come travel with us. If you have never been to Israel, want to travel there again, or are just interested in learning more about the Jewish homeland, this class is for you.  It will be a virtual 8 week course of 1 hour segments exploring all of Israel from north to south and east to west, including the important bodies of water and the cities of the land, both the modern and ancient ones.  Attend every class, or just a few.

Miller Introduction to Judaism
Not for converts only! Whether you’re exploring Judaism for the first time or reconnecting after a long absence, this course is for you. This is an 18-week course, divided into 2 semesters. Students in this class must also attend Learn to Read Hebrew, unless they can already read.
